The Advanced Rolfing 10 Series is a comprehensive program of detailed bodywork sessions designed to address imbalances, realign the body, and enhance overall well-being. This series, also known as the Rolfing Structural Integration 10 Series, consists of ten sessions, each building upon the progress made in the previous session. Imbalance is systemic so an integrative approach addressing each area of the body is necessary to create enduring transformation. The spine is the fulcrum of balance in the body, that is why working with an Advanced Rolfer is paramount in obtaining desired results. Let’s dive into each session and understand the purpose and benefits they offer.
In the first session of the Rolfing 10 Series, the certified Rolfer focuses on establishing a solid foundation for the structural integration process. This session sets the stage for the subsequent sessions by addressing key areas of the body to initiate positive changes and prepare the body for more superficial sleeve sessions.
Session 2 of the Rolfing 10 Series focuses on balancing the lower body. During this session, the Rolfing practitioner will address the structural imbalances and restrictions in the lower leg, pelvis, feet, and back to cultivate a deeper felt sense of support and balance for the subsequent sessions.
Session 3 of the Rolfing 10 Series focuses on unlocking the lateral body and any imbalances or restrictions that may be present. This session plays a vital role in restoring balance and alignment to the relationship of the pelvis girdle, shoulder girdle, and the entire body. Let's take a closer look at what further sessions entail and the benefits it can provide.
In the fourth session of the Rolfing 10 Series, the focus is on how the medial body impacts integration and breath. This session is designed to help establish a sense of order and connection throughout the entire body, while also improving quality of breath. Higher order begins by establishing a relationship between fascial layers. Session 4 is the first a 3 core sessions.
The fifth session of the Rolfing 10 Series is a pivotal point in the journey of structural integration. This session focuses on addressing the deeper fascia of the core, a crucial component of the body's connective tissue network. By targeting the deeper fascia, Certified Advanced Rolfing practitioners aim to release tension and improve overall alignment and movement and the deepest layers.
Session 6 of the Rolfing 10 Series focuses on balancing the backline of the body. This session addresses the relationship between the posterior leg, pelvis, ribcage, shoulder girdle and the posterior neck, as well as the deep core muscles that provide stability and support to the anterior/posterior integration. Vertical integration is elemental and a key component to session 6.
During the seventh session, the focus shifts towards addressing balancing the head and neck on the spine. The spine is a crucial component of our body's structural integrity and overall well-being providing a solid foundation for the neck & head. Advanced Rolfing practitioners understand the importance of aligning the neck and head with the whole body and how detailed differentiation of the cervicals can positively impact the entire body.
Session 8 plays a vital role in bringing together all the previous work done on different areas of the body. This session focuses on integrating the entire body and creating a harmonious balance between its various parts. Advanced Rolfers seek to work in a targeted orientation to minimize remaining issues .
The ninth session of the Rolfing 10 Series is a pivotal point in the journey of structural integration. This session focuses on resolving the integration of fascial layers, a crucial component of the body's connective tissue network. By targeting the various superior and inferior layers of fascia, Certified Advanced Rolfing practitioners aim to confirm set base points.
In the final session of the Rolfing 10 Series, Advanced Rolfers provide an experience of the culmination of the hydration, differentiation, and integration of the whole person wellness process. By this point, your entire body has undergone a series of structural changes, leading to improved alignment, balance, and overall well-being. The objective of this session is closure – bringing together all the work that has been done throughout the previous sessions to create a harmonious and functioning whole.
